And the food reviews are back ! been like over a month since I have put on out been slacking super hard but now being back with it going to be dropping one a week and going to cover a couple food shows throughout the season so basically no one safe keep your dick up and food on point big fudge is coming ;) onto the review!!!
So the kolkata club is a new spot in St.Catharines that just opened up it is the second location the other one being located up in Toronto area just opened a few weeks ago now in the Grantham plaza in the old crack me up diner. Nice small and cozy sits about to 50 we went in around 7 and to be surprised there was a good amount of people in there for a monday night about 15 so we sit young guy come takes our order later we find out its the owners kid only 2 servers on and about 4 people in the kitchen smelled amazing in the place.
So in keeping with Milked Fish tradition i ask the server what would you recommend app entree and desert gave me a strange look like i never ate Indian cuisine before he asked how hungry i was and how spicy did i liked my food told him pretty spicy and look at the size of me i can eat so he orders me tandoori chicken leg app
I was a bit taken at first with the portion size thought it was my entree to be honest but happy none the less took a bit but i don't mind the wait it was well worth it let me tell you tremendous chicken was tender juicy seasoned perfectly just a touch of heat on a sizzling hot plate of peppers onions and lemon overall just amazing and to top it a side sauce of mint cucumber pepper served cold a great mix with to go with the chicken . Highly Highly recommended to start off the night !!! Then came the naan bread oh my lord this bread unreal its what wet dreams are made of fluffy a good crisp to the back side! my lord i ate 2 full orders light garlic butter dipping and eating with my entree
not the best picture it doesn't even do it justice i would go just for the bread Christ it was stunning i'm wanting it right now outta control how good this was saying 10/10 is a high marker but it truly was .
So onto the main event the server ordered me the chicken tikka masala its chicken in a tomato butter sauce with chopped masla the sauce was heavy and rich with cream the chicken was super tender with crispy bits from being cooked in the tandoori oven alot different then other tikka masala i have had previously nothing wrong with that at all in my mind this was another home-run just the right amount of spice not crazy over powering the heat was on point the touch of fresh coriander topped it off perfectly unfortunately i dint get a picture because my smart self knocked the dish onto the table but it looked amazing use your imagination!
And to top it all off they brought over the dessert didn't even know what it was i thought it was fruit in simple syrup
my god how wrong was I the dish is called " Gulab Jamun" its spongy milk dough balls soaked in citrus rose simple syrup i was absolutely blown away by this dish sweet but not to sweet the texture is unlike anything i have ever had before soft and melts right in your mouth small hints of cardamon cinnamon butter it was out of control i could of drank the syrup but i was in public and probably get those looks like oh look the fat kid is drinking the syrup surprise surprise !!!
So overall this was a great place to eat took and bit to get our food but hey they are new and most likly working out the kinks still i get it but the hustle in these 2 young servers was tremendous the heart they had making sure shit was okay helping in the back making sure everything was perfect you can definitely tell they loved this place and really meant something to them even that thier father owns the place they still work like they are trying tom prove themselves which is a comforting feeling when you go eat at a new place all and all go check this place out you will not disappointed i know dam well my fat ass will be back there soon to try the rest of the menu solid 8.2 outta 10 on the fish scale !
