So before i start the full review I do understand Turtle Jacks is a chain restaurant and normally i never do them because essentially the food is scripted and theirs really n o flare each dish or unique. That being said 1 i have never ate at one before and this is the first one in Niagara and its not a giant chain so may as well do it up right !!! onto the review !!!!
So Tuesday me and my dear friend decided to go to the casino for the grand buffet in the falls view casino for something different do a little gambling possibly. So as we are driving in between the hoards of tourist literally walking right into of you awful. While looking for parking my friend sees turtle jacks she exclaims the love she has for turtle jacks so fuck it lets try it its new in the falls. Of course the front door was under construction so all the way around thru the front door of the radison walk in beautiful bar gorgeous natural light roadhouse type feeling similar to a Kelsey's we were seated promptly aybe about 25 people in the whole place not bad for a Tuesday at 3 we open the drink menu looks bomb server comes over she ask what drinks would we like she recommends the blueberry mint lime drink sounded tremendous . she brings the drinks back and in classic milked fish fashion i tell her to order for me we could tell she was really thrown off by that so she does. Side note this server Hannah that we had she was tremendous joked with us went along with my dumbass jokes even told her my friend i was with was a hooker i was paying for by the hour wasn't weirded out once polite and over all delightful i would go back just to get her as a server really made the experience.
Anyways the drink
Beautiful looking drink and it was refreshing tasty great for a hot day super sweet tho not my thing but to each there own im like a glorified hillbilly im happy with a bud light but nonetheless it was bomb. So once again the server asking me if i was sure i wanted her to order ask if i had any allergies how hungry i was i said look at me you can clearly tell im always hungry . I finished have the drink before i had to order a beer the rest of the cocktail list looked great but not for me .
So out comes the app she ordered one we can share it was turtle jacks take on the classic 3 cheese spinach dip no shocker this came out . I dont know much in life one thing i do is creamy dips this wasn't up there with the great ones it was horrible but not much flavor in it . pic below!
came out hot with corn chips and naan bread with a panko bread crumb with a drop of tomato sauce on top . The one thing i have to give to it is it was warm creamy the chips and bread were hot as well besides that gotta spice that thing up a bit great for sharing and it was great portion size
My main was dropped off not long after once again i have no clue what will be brought to me Hannah our server opted to order me the The beef dip Roasted shaved inside round crispy onion straws horseradish Dijon sauce topped with cheese on ciabatta with au jus dipping sauce solid choice truth be told i would probably order this myself
Looks bomb right ???? well sadly once again im let down by a sandwich i was so excited it looked incredible there was a pickle on top its normally an international sign that this sandwich doesn't fuck around i was wrong should of known something was up when i bite into the bland pickle that sandwich it fact does fuck around . First bite i didnt dip just to get the feel and taste of the sandwich by itself . It was bland chewy it was hot i gotta say that the horseradish sauce was not present at all the cheese didnt even have flavor it was a let down i dipped my second bite and boom the au jus was warm water that was brown..... I had high hopes for it but hey not all can be winners also the fries were nice and crunchy but they had that god awful lawrys seasoning salt on it i hate that shit so much its so bad if i know you have that on your food i dont wanna do business with you ( Lancer) and there tag line is that its for prime rib thats simply a sin and if you use that on your prime rib politely go walk into traffic rant over !!!!
The price was not bad at all service atmosphere was amazing our server Hannah was a absolute gem cant say enough good things about her service and attitude. On the food tho step it up a bit use that salt i will return to this place try something else its nice right at the end of falls view boulevard nice lay out not stupid crazy like every other place in that city
